Hattery Schwartzenburg P.L.L.C. has grown out of a working relationship between David Hattery and John Schwartzenburg that began in 2000 and remained intact across numerous organizational changes and has involved energy and construction projects throughout the U.S. and around the world. David and John enjoy working within a wide network of professionals in the energy business, assembling the right teams for the right projects.

We maintain low-cost physical offices in Houston and Seattle, but customarily work in whatever locale is most effective in accomplishing our clients' goals. We regularly work in our clients' offices, field offices, the "geographic center" of deals, or wherever we can be most efficient, making full use of all available technology. Our structure gives us a wide competitive advantage in our market space over large law firms and enables clients to access quality legal services at significantly lower cost. This is particularly beneficial to clients concerned with minimizing legal cost exposure to the early stages of a project, cutting operational costs once a project is up and running, and generally containing legal cost.

We understand the intricate balance that must exist among the various participants and agreements involved in an energy project. We readily appreciate and appropriately respond to situations in which a client's goals may be driven by more than pure legal considerations. Our in-house background enables us to provide outsourced general counsel support and transaction management services when our clients so desire. We are adept at distilling complex transactions and legal matters to their key points and presenting them in a frank manner that is readily accessible and of immediate practical use to internal legal and commercial executives.
